"Light from Within" is one of my most popular images. There is a bit of a strange story behind the capture of this contemporary  painterly image. First of all, I am fortunate to live in beautiful Sedona, AZ, where I have a wonderful view of Thunder Mountain. Early one November morning, as I awoke, I noticed this unusual cottony cloud curving and streaming across the bottom of Thunder Mountain. In my heart, I immediately knew that this scenario would yield an incredible abstract image.  I quickly got out of bed, ran to my studio and grabbed my camera. Seconds later, I am standing outside in the freezing cold,  in only  jammies, moving the camera in varying directions, while the camera is set up for a time-exposure.  After firing off quite a few shots and then reviewing the captures, this one really jumped out as a keeper.  Nothing like  a shot of adrenaline to keep a photographer warm!  What is most ncredible, is that most images require so much initial research into best times of day and year to yield optimal lighting and conditions by way of numerous hikes and scouting for locations.   Who would have thought that one of my best imges would be captured in a mad dash from my very own backyard.
